NEET-PG exam will not be postponed, Supreme Court rejects application

Supreme Court has refused to postpone the NEET-PG 2022 exam. The exam will be conducted on May 21, 2022. The top court dismissed the petition seeking a stay on the examination, saying doing so would create chaos and uncertainty.

The division bench hearing the matter agreed with the central government’s contention that there was already a shortage of resident doctors in the hospitals as there were two batches of PG doctors this year. The apex court said that the postponement of the examination will affect the care of patients and the decision will also affect the careers of 2.06 lakh doctors who had registered for NEET-PG 2022 this year. It is a matter of government policy.
