Mundka fire: 27 killed, PM Modi, President expressed grief

A fire broke out in a 4-storey building near Mundka metro station in Delhi on Friday evening. 27 people died in the accident, while 50 were pulled out of the building. Many are still missing and their family members are worried.

 

 

The three-storey building had a manufacturing unit on the first floor, a warehouse on the second floor and a laboratory on the third floor. The second highest number of deaths have occurred so far. Motivational speech was going on on the second floor at the time of the accident. More people were present in this event.

 

 

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi have expressed grief over the accident. President Ram Nath Kovinde said he was saddened by the loss of life and property due to the fire in the building. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

 

 

PM Modi tweeted and said that I am saddened by the death of people in the Delhi fire incident. My condolences to the bereaved families. He said that the dependents of those who lost their lives in the accident would be given Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.
