Meteorological Department: The highest rainfall in Akola and the least in Yavatmal! So far 74.2 mm of rain has fallen in Amravati division
Amravati : According to the Meteorological Department, there has been heavy rain in some districts of Amravati division. However, so far only 74.2 mm of rain has been recorded while the average requirement is 108.2 mm. Last year in June 2021, 165.8 mm of rain was recorded. It has received less rain this year than that.
Akola received the maximum rainfall of 80.9 mm while Yavatmal recorded the least at 68.1 mm.
In view of the possibility of good rains from the Meteorological Department, many farmers have started sowing. However, Monsoon rains have not occurred at many places so far. Farmers facing drought are still waiting for rains in such areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the next three days. Therefore, if there is good rain, the sowing will be accelerated.

At present the atmosphere is gloomy. Sometimes cloudy sky is accompanied by light showers. Meanwhile, scattered showers are very likely to occur over Amravati, Akola, Buldhana and Washim in the next three days. The rest parts of Vidarbha are likely to receive thundershowers at many places. Light to moderate rain is likely over Vidarbha on June 24 and Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Washim, Gondia and Bhandara on June 25. There is a possibility of good rain on 26th June as well.

Meanwhile, on the same day on June 22, the region received 7.2 mm of rain. Buldhana received 10.1 mm, Akola 2.2 mm, Washim 7.2 mm, Amravati 10 mm and Yavatmal 5 mm.
