Mamta will expand the cabinet today

Kolkata, August 03 (H.S.). Mamta Banerjee is going to expand her cabinet today i.e. on Wednesday after the arrest of Partha Chatterjee in the teacher appointment corruption case and his removal from the ministry. He announced this on Monday itself.

According to Trinamool sources, Babul Supriyo, who has won from Ballygunge assembly after leaving BJP and joining Trinamool, will be included in the cabinet. Apart from this, senior MLA Tapas Rai and Naihati MLA Partha Bhowmik of North 24 Parganas are also speculated to be included in the cabinet. Ashish Chakraborty, MLA from Jangipara in Hooghly, is also in the list of potential ministers. All these people are leaders of clean image and there are no allegations of corruption against them. During the cabinet meeting on Monday, Mamta had said that she has her eyes on every minister in the ministry and should not do any such work which brings disrepute to the party or the ministry. With this his clear gesture was towards Partha Chatterjee.

According to Trinamool sources, those to be removed from the ministry include Chandranath Singh, Somen Das Mohapatra and the state’s Minister of State for Education Paresh Chandra Adhikari, who has been implicated in the teacher appointment corruption case. However, all eyes are on who Mamata Banerjee removes and who will be given a new place in the ministry. The swearing-in of the new ministers is likely to take place at the Raj Bhavan at 12:30 pm.
