New Delhi A 35-year-old man has been arrested for duping more than 100 women on the pretext of marriage. An official gave this information here on Friday. The accused has been identified as Farhan Taseer Khan and he himself is married and lives in a rented house in Delhi.

Giving details, DCP (South) Benita Marie Jaker said that a woman, who is a doctor by profession, had lodged a complaint at Cyber ​​Police Station, South District, alleging that a man had entered into a popular marriage with her. contacted on the portal. He claimed that he was unmarried after which he approached her.

 

“They both used to communicate regularly through WhatsApp and phone calls. On the pretext of marriage and expressing the need for big business deals, the person demanded money from her from time to time and got about 15 lakh rupees deposited by her in various bank accounts.” DCP said.

When the victim felt that she had been cheated, she lodged a complaint and accordingly the police registered an FIR under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. During investigation a police team was formed which collected details about the accused person from the said matrimonial website, banks and other portals.

 

After analyzing the data, it was found that the accused created several fake profiles on Jeevan Saathi.com and came in contact with several women in different states, posing as an unmarried man with no one in his family. Was.

Ultimately, through surveillance and technical analysis, the location of the accused person in Delhi was zeroed down. After this, the police raided and arrested Farhan Taseer Khan from Paharganj.

 

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he created several fake profiles on matrimonial sites posing as Bachelor of Engineering and MBA. The accused also claimed that he had his own business and owned several houses in big cities with an annual income of Rs 30-40 lakh.

He communicated with many women in UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, Mumbai, Odisha, Karnataka and other states, presenting himself as an unmarried man with no one in his family.

The senior official said, “Farhan used to meet girls in his luxury car with VVIP number and then used to demand money on the pretext of expanding his business. He traveled from city to city by air and AC trains.”

A luxury car, nine ATM cards of various banks, a mobile phone with four SIM cards and an expensive watch were recovered from his possession.
