Karnataka: 400-year-old banyan tree fell in Bangalore
Bengaluru: People come from far and wide to see this historical banyan tree. A part of a big banyan tree has been uprooted in Ketohalli, Bengaluru. Other parts of the tree are also at risk. The Horticulture Department said that some parts of the tree have been damaged due to incessant rains for the past one week. But the soil at the base of the trees has been removed for the purpose of lawn.
Locals alleged that the tree is now falling without much soil. The local people allege that a large part of the tree got damaged due to the negligence of the Horticulture Department officials. No one was hurt due to the falling trees but the danger is that more trees are in danger. The big tree spread over three acres has a history of 400 years. It is the fourth oldest banyan tree in India. There is also a danger of people walking near this big tree. Most of the trees here are bent. Horticulture assistant officers have written a letter to the government.
