Jathedar Panjoli’s letter to the Governor regarding the release of captive lions

General Secretary of Shiromani Committee Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli has written a letter to Punjab Governor Banwari Lal raising the issue of Bandi Singh.

Jathedar Panjoli informed the Governor that Jagtar Singh Hawara, Jagtar Singh Tara, Paramjit Singh Bhiora, Shamsher Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh are lodged in various jails of the country during the communal conflict. The country’s courts and governments can do this. Never do justice to them.

Jathedar Panjoli said that even after serving a long sentence in jail, the governments are not able to decide about the captive Sikhs. He said that for the release of the Singhs, a joint committee of the entire Khalsa Panth has been formed under the able leadership of Advocate Jathedar Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the great organization of Sikh Panth, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The struggle for the release of the captive Sikhs has begun. As a first step a protest rally was organized in Delhi on 20 July, but till date Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has contacted the government including Delhi Chief Minister Arvinder Kejriwal that The government has been contacted regarding the release. Sikhs, but time has not been given for the memorandum.

Jathedar Panjoli said that Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Narangwal is on hunger strike since 26 July 2022 in Budail Jail, Chandigarh due to non-release of these Singhs by the Delhi Government and Union Territory Administration and in this regard he wrote a letter to IG Jail Chandigarh Is. I have sent and asked all the lions for an appointment, but unfortunately I have to say that no time has been fixed by IG Jail Chandigarh for the meeting.

Appealing, Panjoli said that Lakhwinder Singh’s hunger strike has reached the 10th day today. The sentiments of the entire Khalsa Panth are attached to the sacrifice of these lions. The Khalsa Panth does not want anyone to lose their lives due to the hunger strike of these Singhs. Because of this, I request you to fix a meeting with Bhai Lakhwinder Singh and other captive Singhs who are on hunger strike. He said that efforts are being made by the Shiromani Committee for the release of the captive Sikhs and the aim of meeting the captive Sikhs is to find a suitable solution for their release.
