Independent became president in Ratia and Bhuna municipalities

Fatehabad, June 22 (H.S.). After the counting of votes for the civic elections on Wednesday, Preeti Khanna from Ratia and Arpana in Bhuna Municipality won the head post. Elaborate arrangements were made by the administration for the counting of votes at both the places. Independent candidate Preeti Khanna has won the post of Ratia Municipality President by a margin of 2239 votes.

Preeti Khanna had the support of Congress, while independent candidate Sushma Rani came second. While Preeti Khanna got 12589 votes, Sushma Rani got 10350 votes. Preeti Khanna was declared the winner after three rounds of counting. BJP candidate Anju Bala stood third for the post of Ratia Pradhan. He got only 4362 votes. Apart from this, Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Amarjit Kaur got 1676 votes, independent candidate Manita got 561 votes, Sunita Rani got 437 votes, Manju Rani got 225 votes while 185 people pressed the NOTA button.

Independent candidate Arpana has captured the post of head in Municipality Bhuna. He defeated his rival candidate Bhajan Lal by 3878 votes. While Arpana got 7339 votes, Bhajanlal came second with 3461 votes. Here Praveen Dharani came in third place who got 2780 votes.

Except the Aam Aadmi Party, no party had fielded a candidate in Bhuna. Here Sadhu Ram of Aam Aadmi Party stood seventh with 598 votes. Fourth position Ajay got 1005 votes, fifth position Sandeep Kumar got 756 votes, sixth place Arun Kumar got 627 votes and eighth position Rakhi got 132 votes. Here 128 voters pressed the button of NOTA.
