Gurugram: Cleaning of all drain and sewerage lines should be completed in next 6 days: Sanjeev Kaushal
Gurugram, 24 June (H.S.). Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal reviewed the flood control arrangements with the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the state through video conferencing meeting. He directed all the districts to ensure the cleanliness of drains and sewerage lines by 30th June i.e. in the next six days and to confirm the availability and running condition of pumpsats used for rainwater harvesting.
The Chief Secretary directed that all the Deputy Commissioners should make arrangements for the necessary machinery, pump sets etc. in time for flood control in their respective districts during the rainy season. He said that cooperation of the concerned SDM and Irrigation Department officers should be taken in this work. In the meeting, officials of Gurugram Municipal Corporation informed that there are about 650 km length of drains in the municipal corporation area, out of which the cleaning work has been completed in 250 km length and cleaning work is going on in the rest. He said that the target has been set to complete this work by June 30. Along with this, he also informed that as part of the preparations for the rainy season, 98 pumpsets, 67 super sucker machines, 35 tractor trolleys, 24 JCB machines and 5 DG sets have been arranged in the municipal area. He said that apart from these arrangements, 8 pumpsets are permanently engaged in the corporation area.
In this video conferencing meeting, Divisional Commissioner of Gurugram Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintending Engineer of Irrigation Department Shiv Singh Rawat, Chief Engineer of Municipal Corporation Thakur Lal, Executive Engineer of Electricity Corporation Kuldeep Nehra, District Revenue Officer Manbir Singh along with flood control. Officials of the concerned departments were present.
