Government of India will buy 1700 crore BrahMos missiles for naval ships

BrahMos missile is one of the deadliest weapons of India. Due to which other countries are also showing interest in buying this missile.

Now to meet the requirement of the Indian Navy, the Ministry of Defense, Government of India has signed a deal to buy BrahMos missile worth Rs 1700 crore with BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited, a company that makes BrahMos.

This will meet the requirement of the Navy. These missiles will be deployed on warships and will have a range of 290 km. According to the Defense Ministry, this deal will increase the capability of the Navy and increase the participation of domestic defense industries.

So far, three branches of the Indian Army have signed contracts worth Rs 38,000 crore to buy BrahMos. This missile can fly three times faster than the speed of sound.

Initially its range was 290 km but now this range has been increased from 350 to 400 km. A variant with a range of 800 km is also being worked on. The long-range missile was also test-fired by the Indian Navy last year.

At present, 10 warships are equipped with BrahMos and another five ships are equipped with Vertical Launch System.

Army’s BrahMos is stationed on the Ladakh and Arunachal border.

The Philippines has finalized a deal with India to buy BrahMos worth Rs 2770 crore.
