Fatehabad: DC visited the waterlogged villages in Bhattukalan

Fatehabad, August 03 (H.S.). Due to heavy rains in the Bhattukalan area of ​​the district, the crops have suffered a lot. On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, while ordering the drainage of water from the waterlogged areas at the earliest, asked the officials of the Irrigation and Panchayat Department not to let the rain water stagnate in the villages.

The Deputy Commissioner visited Thuiyan, Jandwala Bagad and Gadli villages of Bhattu area and inspected the drainage work by the Irrigation Department. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the arrangements made by the Irrigation Department and said that if there is a need for additional pumps to drain the water, they should also be done. Water extraction is being done by the Irrigation Department by installing 43 cusec electric pumps and 10 cusec tractor auger sets. Irrigation Department is draining rain water in Hisar-Ghaggar multipurpose channel. Water is also being removed from the drain by pouring it into the Khedi Minor so that the drain does not leak in the lower area.

Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar interacted with the villagers and assured them that the administration would extend all possible help to them. Water drainage arrangements have been made. Apart from this, additional pump sets will be installed if required. The villagers of village Jandwala Bagad demanded to build a pipeline or skin from Johad to the drain so that the rain water would go from Johad to the drain. On this, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Panchayat Department to take necessary action. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the water being pumped into the Hisar-Ghaggar Multipurpose Channel going from under the Khedi Minor in village Gadli.

For the waterlogged area of ​​village Khabra Kalan, a proposal has already been prepared by the Irrigation Department, which has been approved by the government, on which the department will start the work soon. He assured the Deputy Commissioner that he would make all proper arrangements for drainage and people would not face any kind of problems. On this occasion a large number of villagers including Irrigation Department’s XEN Mandeep Singh Beniwal, Naib Tehsildar Balram Jakhar, former Sarpanch Bansilal Jandwala, Balbir Singh, Harpal Numberdar, Surendra Bhadu, Subedar Purna Singh were present.
