Delhi’s water supply will come to a standstill today, see the list of affected areas

New Delhi: The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Saturday (June 18, 2022) said that the water level in Wazirabad pond is 667.3 feet, against the normal 674.5 feet. With less water being released from capital Haryana into Yamuna and two canals on Sunday, the capital utility said water under low pressure would be available in Northeast Delhi, West Delhi, North Delhi, Central Delhi, South Delhi and New Delhi Municipal Council areas.

“Water supply will remain affected till the situation improves,” it said in a statement. and advised the residents to store sufficient quantity of water.

Areas of Delhi where water supply will be affected

The areas likely to be affected are Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Paharganj, NDMC area, Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar, Baljit Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indrapuri, Kalkaji, Govindpuri, Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Prahladpur, Ramlila Ground, Delhi Gate, Subhash Park, Model Town, Gulabi Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, Jahangirpuri, Moolchand, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Burari and parts of Cantonment area.

The utility had last week sent the Haryana Irrigation Department for the fifth time in this summer season. wrote a letter , in which water was asked to be released from the Som River, a tributary of the Yamuna. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also requested Haryana to release excess water in Yamuna on humanitarian grounds.
