Birbhum massacre: Trinamool leader Anarul told the police: let the village burn, don’t come
Kolkata, June 22 (H.S.). There have been shocking revelations in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chargesheet probing the burning of at least 10 people alive through arson in Bagtui, Birbhum. The central agency has claimed evidence of incitement to violence on Rampurhat block Trinamool president Anarul Hussain, arrested in this case.
The central agency has told the court in writing that on the night of the incident, when Trinamool leader Bhadu Sheikh was killed, several of his supporters started vandalizing and setting fire to the village across the road. Anarul had asked him to do this and had also called the police and said that the village is burning, let it burn but don’t come.
It is also learned that after the incident many people of the village had called Anarul and informed about the whole incident and asked to call the police immediately but they did not help.
After the murder of Trinamool leader Bhadu Sheikh on the night of June 21, there was an incident of arson in a nearby village. After 90 days in the case, the CBI has filed a charge sheet in which this matter has been mentioned.
