New Delhi: Instead of taking medicine, it is better to let the mild fever remain. A new animal study suggests that a mild fever may help clear up an infection faster. A study published in the Journal of Immunology and Inflammation showed that a mild fever helped fish recover more quickly from infection. Along with this, it also helps in controlling inflammation and repairing tissue damage. We let nature do what it does, and in this case that was a very positive thing, said immunologist Daniel Barreda, lead author of the study at the University of Alberta in Canada. Barreda explained that moderate fever heals on its own, meaning the body can induce it and turn it down naturally without medication.
The health benefits of natural feverfew for humans have to be confirmed through more research, the researchers said. But the mechanisms that persist during fever are found in animals. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect similar benefits in humans. Studies show that in case of mild fever, we should avoid taking medicines immediately. It is also called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
