Side effects of headphones: 250 million people will be deaf by 2050; Headphones have a devastating effect on hearing

Research from the National Institute of Health and Medical Institute in France has shown that one in four people in France have hearing difficulties and are gradually becoming deaf. This means that 25 percent of the country’s population is affected by it ( Headphones have a devastating effect on hearing ,

For the first time such research was conducted on a large scale in France, involving 1,86,460 people aged 18-75. Previously, only small-scale research was done, but this year’s research found that people’s hearing problems are caused by lifestyle, social isolation, and depression and exposure to noise.

Research has found that some people suffer from hearing problems due to diabetes and depression, while others suffer from loneliness, urban noise and the use of headphones. According to the World Health Organization, around 150 million people worldwide suffer from some form of hearing loss. This number is expected to increase to 250 crore by 2050. Hence it is seen as a health problem.

In France, only 37% of people with hearing problems use hearing aids. People who smoke and have a higher BMI are also less likely to use hearing aids. Last year, the French Department of Health made free hearing aids available to the public in response to the growing problems. Insurance is also provided for hearing aids.
