Shower Gel & Body Wash: Say goodbye to soap this winter, pamper your skin with shower gel & body wash!
Often people consider body wash and shower gel to be the same but it is not so. Let us know what is the difference between the two.

In ancient times, people used natural things like gram flour, multani mitti, milk etc while taking bath. Times changed and they were replaced by soaps, body washes, shower gels etc.

But today liquid soaps are available in the market. There are many products like shower gels and body washes available in the market these days. Often people think that body wash and shower gel are the same but it is not so.

While shower gels usually give a silky feel to your skin, they can be harsh on your skin if you have dry skin. These are derived from petroleum or plant sources.

Body washes are liquid cleansers that have a pH between 6 and 7. Body washes are more gentle and hydrating than shower gels. It helps in removing dirt, excess oil and sweat from your skin.

These are more gentle and hence if you have dry or sensitive skin, you should use a body wash.

The shower gel has a long lasting fragrance, but the body wash has a mild fragrance. Shower gels are usually formulated with surfactants, water, preservatives, fragrances, and detergents.

The shower gel has mild and soothing properties. The shower gel is suitable for oily skin.

Body washes usually contain surfactants, emulsifiers, humectants, vitamin E, essential oils, and natural extracts. Adding Vitamin E, essential oils, etc. to the body wash makes it more moisturizing. Body washes are known for their moisturizing properties, which are great for dry skin.
