TV and film actor Rajneesh Duggal says he is spending time reading books to get used to the skin of his character in the daily show “Sanjog”, starring Kamya Punjabi and Shefali Sharma in lead roles.
He revealed: “When I was offered ‘Sanjog’, I decided to deeply understand Rajeev’s character as he is very different from me. While some actors want to get into his character and learn something new in films and videos. I love watching. I started reading books like ‘The Fountainhead’ by Ayn Rand and ‘Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta’ by Amish Tripathi.”
The 42-year-old actor entered Bollywood from ‘1920’ and was the winner of Season 5 of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. Rajneesh mentioned how he took inspiration from various characters in the book to portray his role on screen.
In “The Fountainhead”, the lead character is very stubborn, strong-headed and goes against norms, which helps me portray my character and develop nuance from it. On the other hand, some characters in the book ‘Ravana’ ‘Aryavarta ka Dushman’ is very interesting and they help me portray the gray shadow of my character.”
According to him, his character reflects a distinctive personality and he is a complex person.
He said, “I think it is an amazing mix of personalities. Thus, I hope my audience is loving my performance and will continue to shower their love on the show and my character.”
‘Sanjog’ airs on Zee TV.
