LONDON: Indian-origin sage Sunak, who is in the running for the post of British prime minister, on Wednesday promised that he would take strong action against Islamic extremism. Describing Islamic extremism as the “greatest threat” to Britain, he said he would expand the current official definition of extremism and strengthen anti-terror laws. Sunak, 42, a former finance minister, seems to be bridging the gap with his rival Liz Truss in the race for the prime minister’s post.

He also pledged to destroy organizations promoting extremism in Britain. Sunak said he would also refocus on the “failing” prohibitory program being used as the government’s weapon to combat Islamic extremism. “There is no duty more important for a prime minister than to keep our country and people safe,” he said as part of an ongoing campaign to win the votes of Conservative Party members.
Will not spare those who want to destroy us
“Whether it is to redouble my efforts to combat Islamic extremism or to deal with people who are spreading hatred in our country, I will do whatever is necessary to fulfill this duty,” he said. Britain is a beacon of freedom, tolerance and diversity. We will never succeed those who want to undermine or destroy our lifestyles.” has been presented.
Rishi Sunak backward in survey
Rishi Sunak seems to be lagging behind in the race to become the Prime Minister. A recent survey showed that he is 31 points behind Foreign Minister Liz Truss. A YouGov survey showed that 69 per cent of people chose Liz Truss as their first choice as the new UK PM.
