Many film lovers are still digesting the fact that the Film Federation of India (FFI) did not send SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2022. Now, Hollywood filmmaker Adam McKay, who is credited with projects like Don’t. Look Up, The Big Short, Vice etc have reacted on this topic. He tweeted, ‘This is a treason. Earlier, while addressing a question and answer session after the screening of RRR at the IFC Centre, SS Rajamouli opened up on the fate of the film at the Oscars. He said, “Whether RRR wins the Oscar or not, my plans for the next film are not going to change. The Oscars will be a real boost to the morale for the unit (of the film) and the country, but it is going to change the way I work.” No. I need to constantly upgrade myself as a filmmaker. I have to update my storytelling tools. Same goes for it. What I say and what I want is not going to change “
