Chris Pratt is celebrating 8 years of Galaxy. On Tuesday, the actor took to Instagram to thank his fans and expressed his gratitude for supporting the Marvel franchise for the past 8 years now that the film series ends with its third and last installment in 2023.

In his post, Pratt uploaded an edited video of the first edition of the franchise that marked the beginning of a new phase of Marvel movies. Not only did the franchise help the MCU spread its roots in the space, but it also carried the Thanos story forward. 8 years ago, today i.e. August 1, 2014, Marvel made its first Guardians of the Galaxy film debut in theaters and it didn’t take long for the film to become a big part of the MCU.
Pratt wrote in his caption, “8 years ago today Star Lord and the Guardians hit the big screen.” Pratt credited fans with all the success of the film series, saying, “I’m constantly being influenced by the community we’ve built over the past 8 years! And it’s all because of you! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do that.” Let’s do what we love. Never forget… We are the Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Although Pratt was nothing new when the film launched, Guardians of the Galaxy greatly increased his fame and catapulted him to the position he is in now. Peter Quill’s rendition of Pratt was exactly what fans wanted and the actor was highly praised for his take on the character.
