Happy Birthday Kishore Kumar: What is Kishore Kumar’s relationship with classical music, unheard stories and romantic songs?

It’s the 70s. There were many discussions about it in the film industry. Some people believed that Kishore Kumar singing light songs In is expert. But Kishore Da’s fans were not ready to accept this. Meanwhile, the film Amar Prem came. This film of Shakti Samanta was a huge hit. The film had actors like Rajesh Khanna, Sharmila Tagore and Vinod Mehra. The music of the film was composed by RD Burman. RD Burman was identified as a musician who used western music extensively.

It was also believed that Kishore Kumar could have played the song better with Masti, but RD Burman experimented afresh in Amar Prem. He composed many songs of the film on pure classical ragas. Remember the songs from this movie – Chingari Koi Bhadke, Raina Bitti Jaye, Kuch To Log Kehna, Doli Mein Sitaye Ke Kahar, Yeh Kya Hua and Bada Natkhat Hai Yeh Krishna Kanhaiya. There was a spark in Raag Bhairavi.

Be it life or journey I have gone through myself if the destination…

Two years after Amar Prem, came the 1974 film Aap Ki Kasam. The film also had music by RD Burman. He once again made excellent use of Kishore Kumar’s singing. A song sung by Kishore Kumar in the film became quite popular. We sing that song even today – I have passed away in the journey of life, which is makam. This song was composed on the land of Raag Bihag. It is also worth knowing that Raga Bihag is considered to be a raga of serious nature. This song was written by Anand Bakshi.

Kishore Kumar’s romantic songs have also been played a lot. Have a look… on romantic songs…
