Former Miss Brazil Gliese Correa dies after surgery complications
New Delhi: 2018 Miss United Continents Gliese Correa has passed away at the age of 27 following surgery complications.
According to Fox News, the beauty pageant queen died at a private clinic on Monday after being in a coma for the past two months.
Correia had surgery to remove her tonsils and a few days later suffered heavy bleeding and a heart attack on April 4.
The news of his death was confirmed by his family priest Lydian Alves Oliveira on Instagram. “Gleesey underwent surgery to remove his tonsils and soon the doctor released him,” she wrote.
Oliveira said, “5 days after the procedure, Gliesi suffered bleeding and had to return to Unimed Costa do Sol Hospital. Due to hemorrhage, she had a cardio-respiratory arrest, doctors were able to perform a resuscitation procedure, however, examination showed neurological damage and she remained in a coma for 75 days. In the last 3 days of life, Gliese had kidney failure and died last Monday.”
He also shared a statement regarding the loss of Correa. “We are deeply saddened by this loss. She was an amazing woman and was very much loved by everyone,” she told Fox News.
“Gliese actively participated in social projects at our local church, especially when there were social projects for children. In addition, she had her own social project to reconstruct the breast area of women affected by cancer. Life would not be easy without her smile and glow. We’re still getting used to the idea of not being around him,” Oliveira continued.
According to the outlet, the beauty pageant star worked professionally as a beautician. She worked with permanent makeup and often shared her work through social media. From April 4, his family had taken over Korea’s Instagram page and shared videos of prayer circles held for Korea.
