Court grants protection to Rakhi Sawant against police action in Sherlyn Chopra case
Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has asked the police not to take any action against Sawant till January 24 in an FIR filed by model and actress Sherlyn Chopra against actress Rakhi Sawant for airing her objectionable video.
Rakhi has applied for anticipatory bail in the Bombay High Court to avoid arrest in this case. Rakhi was taken into custody on January 19 on Chopra’s complaint. His arrest was prevented on humanitarian grounds by granting bail. Rakhi is said to have produced a medical certificate which stated that her mother was suffering from a serious illness. Due to this, Sherlyn and her lawyer did not insist on arrest.
Rakhi is cooperating in the investigation and it is said that she has also handed over her mobile phone to the police for investigation.
Sherlyn Chhapra lodged a complaint against Rakhi in November 2022 for using objectionable language. He alleged that Rakathi circulated objectionable videos and photos of himself on social media platforms. Rakhi’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Dindoshi court on Wednesday.
