BTS announces global concert to bring World Expo 2030 to Busan

Seoul: South Korean boy band BTS will hold a global concert to support the nation’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan. HYBE President Bang Si-hyuk and CEO Park Jiwon, and Busan Metropolitan City Park Mayor Heong-joon on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Busan Metropolitan City Hall this morning to promote Busan’s bid for World Expo 2030 signed.

As part of the agreement, BTS will host the Global Busan Concert as ambassador in efforts to bring World Expo 2030 to Busan. The memorandum includes a joint initiative for Busan to succeed in its bid as host. This includes BTS “acting as ambassador, organizing global concerts in Busan, organizing activities to appeal to the members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE); and personally introducing the proposed site to BIE interrogation missions.”

He will also “act as ambassador to South Korea’s presentation sessions, be present on election day to support the bid, provide photos and videos for the city’s digital campaigns, and through official social media channels.” Will have to spread the promotional video.

Chairman Bang said, “Given the importance of our bid as a nation to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan, BTS and HYBE will do their best to successfully bring the World Expo to Busan.

This will be a great opportunity to contribute to the development of K-culture as well as its local pop cultures in Busan.” Mayor Park said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation for accepting the members of BTS and HYBE. Be the ambassador of World Expo 2030 in Busan. The group’s support as ambassador will be incredibly helpful in furthering our efforts to bring the World Expo to Busan. The news comes days after BTS members announced that they would be taking a break to focus on their solo projects. BTS consists of 7 members – RM, Jin, Suga, Jay Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkok – with RM as their leader.
