Will WhatsApp’s free calling really end? Know what changes to prepare for

WhatsApp Free Calling: The instant messaging platform WhatsApp is used by a large number of people. The number of active users in India alone is more than 400 million. What if from tomorrow you have to pay to use WhatsApp? The reason for this is being told after the draft of the new telecom bill. The government has prepared the draft Indian Telecom Bill, 2022.

The draft of the Bill is available to all on the website of the Department of Telecommunications. Along with this, suggestions have also been sought from the industry on the bill. If the bill is passed, the DoT will act accordingly. Many new things have been added in the draft Indian Telecom Bill, 2022.

According to this, calling and messaging service apps like WhatsApp, Zoom, Skype, Google Duo and Telegram will now have to take a license. They will need the same license as telecom companies to operate in India. At the same time, OTT platform has also been included in the new telecom bill.

Calls on WhatsApp or other apps are also charged. We pay this charge as data cost but what will happen after license fee, nothing can be said about it. Under the new bill, all telecom service providers will have to take a license and they will have to follow the rules of the telecom operator.
