Watching TV will be cheaper, TRAI issued new rules

TRAI guideline: It may be the era of smartphones, but everyone can watch TV sitting at home. The journey from black and white TV to color TV and now smart TV is starting. Although there has been some decline in TV viewing, the popularity has not diminished at all. Hundreds of channels are available on your TV through direct to home and cable. Even today people prefer TV to watch serials, movies, live matches. If you are also fond of watching TV then there is good news for you. Because TRAI i.e. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has issued new guidelines. TRAI has amended the Tariff Order 2.0. This will benefit crores of customers. let’s find out

what is the rule

As per the new rules, all channels priced at Rs 19 or less will be included in the package. Cable and DTH customers will get a big relief after this decision of TRAI. According to the information received from TRAI, the new rules will come into effect from 1 February 2023. Along with this, TRAI said that all channels should ensure that after February 1, customers are served according to the channel or package chosen by them.

 

Changes will be notified

All broadcasters will notify changes in their channel, channel MRP and channel package structure by December 16. While pricing the package, broadcasters can offer a maximum discount of 45 per cent on the sum of the maximum retail price (MRP) of the paid channels included in it.
