Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata appointed as Trustee of PM Cares Fund by PM Modi
India’s veteran industrialist Ratan Tata has been appointed by PM Modi as the trustee of PM Cares Fund.
Along with this, former Supreme Court Justice KT Thomas and former Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Kariya Munda have also been made trustees of PM Care Fund.
According to the report, some other eminent personalities of the country have also been given place in the advisory group. These include former CAG Rajiv Mehrishi, former Infosys Foundation chairman Sudha Murthy, former Piramal Foundation CEO Anand Shah.
A meeting of the Board of Trustees of PM Care was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of PM Modi. In which Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were also present. Along with this, newly elected members also participated in the meeting. PM Modi welcomed the new trustees.
PM Care Fund was created during the Corona crisis of 2020. It is headed by Prime Minister Modi himself.
PM Modi said that with the contribution of new trustees and new advisors, the working of this trust will get a broader perspective. The trustees’ vast experience in public life will make this care fund more accountable.
The amount deposited in PM Care Fund reached 10000 crore in 2020-21 and out of this 1392 crore corona vaccine was purchased and another 1000 crore was allocated for public welfare.
