UPI transaction breaks record!  So many billion people transacted in the month of July

UPI Transaction Record: Now a large number of people in the country are moving towards online transactions. In such a situation, there has been a boom in UPI. Earlier people had the option of physical cash and card but later people started taking UPI as a great option too. Let us tell you that the hype of this UPI is so much that in the month of July itself, 6 billion UPI transactions have been done.

PM Modi tweeted

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has tweeted on this issue. He described the record 6 billion transactions through UPI in July as a significant achievement. He said it reflects the collective resolve of the people to adopt new technology and make the economy ‘clean’.

 

Highest transaction since 2016

Let us tell you that this transaction is the highest since December 2016. Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted about this. Retweeting which PM Modi wrote, This is a big achievement. It reflects the collective determination of the people of India to adopt new technologies and make the economy clean. Digital payments were especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Know the stats

Notably, a data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) states that a total of 6.28 billion transactions took place in July, out of which transactions amounted to Rs 10.62 trillion. NPCI handles the operation of UPI. Looking at the one-month record, UPI has jumped by 7.16 percent and in value terms this increase is 4.76 percent. UPI transactions have doubled compared to a year ago and have increased by 75 per cent in value in one year.
