Ration Card Latest Update If you also have a ration card and you buy ration from any government store, then this news is for you. As per a new update, Assam has also started the Ration Card Portability Service. Along with this, the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ program of the Center has been implemented across the country.
You can get the goods from any ration shop
The Ministry of Food gave this information. Under ONORC, beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA) can get their quota of subsidized food grains from ration shops equipped with any Electronic Point of Sale Device (e-POS) of their choice.
Successfully implemented in all states
For this cardholders will have to use existing ration card with biometric authentication. A statement from the ministry said that Assam has become the 36th state/UT to implement ONORC. In addition, the ONORC program has been successfully implemented in all States and Union Territories, making food security ‘portable’ across the country.

ONORC was launched in August 2019. The government has also launched ‘Mera Ration’ mobile application to make the most of One Nation, One Ration Card scheme. This app is providing real time information to the beneficiaries. It is currently available in 13 languages. This app has been downloaded more than 20 lakh times from Google Play Store so far.
