Petrol, diesel prices drop after excise duty cut, check prices in your city

New Delhi: Despite global crude oil prices hovering around $110 a barrel, local gasoline and diesel prices remained stable for the 29th day. Petrol costs Rs 96.72 per liter in Delhi and Rs 111.35 per liter in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per liter in Delhi and Rs 97.28 per liter in Mumbai.

The rates were last changed when the government announced on May 21 that excise duty on petrol and diesel would be reduced by Rs 8 per liter and Rs 6 per liter respectively.

Petrol was selling at Rs 106.03 per liter in Kolkata after the excise duty cut, while diesel was selling at Rs 92.76 per litre. On Sunday, the price of petrol in Chennai was Rs 102.63 per liter, while the price of diesel was Rs 94.24 per litre.

In other regions of the country, the price of petrol in Bhopal on Sunday was Rs 108.65 per liter, while the price of diesel was Rs 93.90 per litre. Petrol in Hyderabad was being sold at Rs 109.66 per liter, while diesel was being sold at Rs 97.82 per litre. According to the latest statement by the oil marketing companies, the price of petrol in Bengaluru was Rs 101.94 per liter and that of diesel was Rs 87.89 per liter.

Petrol price in Gandhinagar is Rs 96.63 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 92.38 per litre. Petrol in Guwahati costs Rs 96.01 per liter, while diesel costs Rs 83.94 per litre. Petrol was being sold at Rs 96.57 per liter and diesel Rs 89.76 per liter in Lucknow. Petrol price in Thiruvananthapuram is Rs 107.71 per liter and diesel price is Rs 96.52 per litre.

On Friday, Brent futures fell $6.69, or 5.6 per cent, to $113.12 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $8.03, or 6.8%, to $109.56 a barrel.
