Index futures were trading at Rs 511 crore, with silver futures opening at 62,086 per kg and closing at 58,751.

MCX, the country’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, saw a total turnover of Rs 279,160.25 crore in 3,145,223 deals in various commodity futures, options and index futures during the week of May 6 to 12, which includes commodity futures and Rs.

In precious metal futures, gold and silver was trading at Rs 50,456.01 crore in 955,848 deals on MCX. In gold futures, MCX Gold June futures opened the week at Rs 50,936 per 10 grams, hitting an intra-day high of Rs 51,538 and low of Rs 50,140 during the week. In comparison, the gold-guinea contract fell by Rs 566 per 8 grams to Rs 40,328 and the gold-petal contract fell by Rs 62 per gram to Rs 5,030. Gold-Mini June futures opened at Rs 50,953 per 10 grams, down by Rs 709 to close at Rs 50,249.

In silver futures Silver July futures opened at Rs 62,086 per kg at the beginning of the week, reaching an intra-day high of Rs 63,030 and low of Rs 58,611 during the week. Silver-Mini June contract fell by Rs 3549 to Rs 59,135 and Silver-Micro June contract fell Rs 3,578 to Rs 59,125.

Non-ferrous metal futures were trading at Rs 17,584.93 crore in 102,096 deals on MCX. Aluminum May futures fell by Rs 11.65 per kg to Rs 232.30 and zinc May futures fell by Rs 24.25 to Rs 306 per kg. In comparison, the Copper May contract declined by Rs 17.40 to Rs 744.75 and the Lead May contract declined by Rs 4.45 to Rs 180.

MCX’s total business in energy segment futures stood at Rs 75,397.81 crore in 793,703 deals. At the beginning of the week, crude oil May futures opened at Rs 8,379, which during the week touched day’s high of Rs 8,554 and low of Rs 7,654. It closed at Rs 598.30, down by Rs 67.70 per 1 mmbtu.

On MCX, agricultural commodity futures was trading at Rs 822.32 crore in 6,953 trades. Cotton April futures closed at Rs 1,670.50 per 20 kg. Cotton May futures opened at Rs 46,380 per bale during the week, hitting a high of Rs 48,800 and a low of Rs 45,860 during the week. Rubber May contract opened at Rs 17,132 per 100 kg, up by Rs 608 to close at Rs 17,875. In Mentha oil futures, the May contract rose by Rs 54.40 per kg to Rs 1130.90. On MCX, 44,233.374 kg of gold was priced at Rs 22,519.13 crore and 4,558.176 tonnes, valued at Rs 27,936.88 crore, was traded in various futures trade on MCX. In the energy segment, crude oil futures were trading at Rs 28,729.12 crore at 35,415,500 barrels and natural gas futures at Rs 46,669 crore at 789113750 mmBtu.
