New commerce building and ‘export’ portal will strengthen the country’s trade: CAIT

New Delhi, 23 June (H.S.). The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) has welcomed the launch of the newly-constructed Vijyagar Bhawan and Export Portal by the Prime Minister near India Gate. CAIT, the apex body of businessmen, said in a statement issued on Thursday that from this building, India’s commerce and trade will now be run as a whole. This will also enable continuous communication between the government and the traders in a better way.

CAT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal termed the launch of the ‘Niport’ portal for import-export by the Prime Minister as relevant and said that this will give more convenience to India to get a bigger share in the global trade. Congratulating Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Khandelwal expressed the hope that with the commencement of the work of the Ministry in the new building, the coordination of all the departments of the Ministry of Commerce will be strengthened further.

He said that now soon a retail business policy for retail business of the country and e-commerce policy and rules for online business will be announced. Khandelwal also said that now traders will be able to handle their work related to all the departments of the ministry in a better way under one roof. He said that the retail business of the country is going through many challenges at present. In such a situation, it is expected that from the commercial building, the government will now gift many supportive policies to the retail business, so that the retail business of the country can be increased by more than Rs 130 lakh crore annually. By increasing exports, the gap between imports and exports can be reduced.
