Messaging app WhatsApp has banned over 22 lakh Indian accounts. This information has been given in a report released by the company. This data is from June 1 to June 30. Looking at the figures of the last month, the company had frozen 19 lakh accounts in May, 16 lakh in April and about 18.05 lakh accounts in March.
Why was this account banned?
Under the IT Rules 2021, the company has to publish its monthly report. This report will have to state how many complaints the company has received and how many of them have been acted upon. A company spokesperson said, “This step has been taken to prevent misuse of end-to-end encrypted messaging services on WhatsApp. The company has continuously invested in Artificial Intelligence and other cutting edge technologies, data scientists to protect the users on its platform.” The company said in its monthly report that WhatsApp has received 426 appeals and 64 accounts have been processed.
WhatsApp may be banned due to these reasons
WhatsApp says that users should not message people who warn them not to message. If a person continues to do this even after giving a warning, then the company will ban him.
