In April-June quarter, giants sold most smartphones in India, not Indian names

The smartphone market in India is growing at the fastest pace in the world. However, no Indian company but foreign companies are ruling the Indian smartphone market. The largest shipments in the Indian smartphone market come from China.

A recent report has revealed that Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is the biggest leader in the Indian market. The shocking figure is that despite a 22 per cent drop in sales, the company continues to be the top leader in the Indian market.

According to a report by Cyber ​​Media Research (CMR), Xiaomi has topped the domestic smartphone market with 20 per cent share in the first quarter of the current financial year. Then in second place in this list is Samsung which has 18 percent market share.

However, Samsung continues to dominate the 5G smartphone segment with a 28 per cent share.

The report estimates that 5G smartphone sales will grow 7 percent quarter-on-quarter and 163 percent year-on-year during the April-June 2022 quarter.

Super premium segment i.e. Rs. 50,000 to Rs. Apple tops the Rs 1 lakh segment with 78 percent share.
