Mumbai: An important news has come out for the investors in the stock market. SEBI has made a big announcement for the investors. So if you are also investing in the stock market then this news is important for you. This is because investors now have to enter the name of the person enrolled in the trading-demat account with PAN card and Aadhaar link (Aadhaar-PAN link). SEBI had also declared March 31, 2022 as the last date for nominations. But now SEBI has extended it for one year.

That is, investors can now do this work till March 31, 2023.

It is worth noting that according to SEBI rules, those who have a demat or trading account, they have to register the name of the nominee by March 31.

 

Those who have not yet enrolled in a demat or trading account can do so till March 31, 2023. Earlier, the deadline was March 31, 2022. Now it has been extended for one year.

Circular issued by SEBI

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has issued a circular for this. In this, SEBI has said, “No witness is required for making nomination. The nomination form should be signed by the account holder. No witness is required for nomination/declaration form filled online using e-sign facility. However, if the account holder uses thumb impression instead of signature, the form must also bear the signature of the witness.

 

How to enroll in Demat?

If you also wish to add the name of the nominee in your account, you can first fill the nomination form, sign it and send it to the head office address (broker company that has opened the demat account, eg Zerodha) .)

– Nomination will be applicable to your Trading and Demat Account, this nomination will be added to your Demat Account, the same nomination will be applicable to your Coins (Mutual Fund) holdings.

You have to send the ID proof of the nominee along with the nomination form

For this you can send any ID proof like Aadhar, Voter ID Card, Driving License etc.

If you want to change your nominee by opening your account and making someone a nominee, then you will have to pay 25+18% GST charges. For this, you have to send the hard copy of the enrollment form along with the revised account form.
