An integrated pension portal will be set up to make the life of pensioners easier. The portal will be set up by the Centre’s Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) in collaboration with the country’s largest bank SBI. The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said in a statement that there is an urgent need to create a unified pension portal by merging the existing portals of DoPPW and SBI to provide seamless services to the pensioners. In a statement, the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said that a special session was organized for pensioners on issues related to income tax as well as digital means of submission of life certificates. “Face authentication technology for digital life certificates may be widely advertised by banks,” the statement said. It is expected that the objective of enriching the lives of pensioners will be achieved to a great extent through these schemes. In collaboration with State Bank of India, four such awareness programs will be organized across the country. Similar awareness campaigns will be conducted in the year 2022-23 in collaboration with other pensioners, the statement said.
