Big news for credit-debit card users! Has your password been leaked?
Debit – Credit Card Online Fraud: Nowadays all our transactions are done online. This has made online banking quite dangerous for digital transactions. There is no guarantee that any of your data will ever be leaked. This has now created a lot of risk even when using debit and credit cards. One such case came to light recently where 1.4 lakh payment terminal passwords of a company were leaked.
If you use a debit card and then someone gets your password from a third party…? It can happen to anyone including you and us. Something similar has happened with the big digital company Wiseeasy. Hackers have lost access to the dashboards that control thousands of the company’s credit card payment terminals. Due to this the company’s data has been leaked. Which includes everything from name, phone number, email id.
It has been revealed that the password of this company’s terminal has been found in the dark web and through this the company’s data has been leaked and all the data of the company’s employees and administrators have been found in this data.
How did you detect this fraud?
All these scams and theft reports have been revealed by cyber security startup TechCrunch. Wiseeasy is a leading Android based payment terminal manufacturer. The cloud dashboard of the company Wiseeasy has been hacked. This system did not have two factor authentication, so hackers could easily hack this data. Because of this availability, hackers can manipulate the terminal from extracting the app to running the app. The company TechCrunch has also taken screenshots of all this.
