Aadhaar Card News: The government has issued an advisory to stop the use of fake Aadhaar cards. The Electronics and IT Ministry on Thursday said that Aadhaar card is an important document, therefore this 12-digit unique identification number should be verified before accepting it in physical and electronic form. Aadhaar issuing body UIDAI has issued a circular asking all departments to verify the authenticity of any person before accepting Aadhaar.
On behalf of UIDAI, it has been said that with the consent of the person, any form of his Aadhaar card such as E Aadhaar, Aadhaar PVC Card (PVC Aadhaar Card) and M Aadhaar (MAadhaar) can be verified. The Ministry of Electronics and IT said that this will prevent misuse of Aadhaar. Along with this, the cases of misuse of Aadhaar and fraud will also be less.
Misuse of Aadhaar Card is a punishable offense
According to the advisory issued by the government, information about fake cards will be available only on Aadhaar verification. In such a situation, a person using a fake Aadhaar card would be classified as an offense and would be liable for punishment under section 35 of the Aadhaar Act.
