A case of burglary has been reported in Overseas Bank located in Matiyari area of ​​Chinhat in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The criminals made a way to enter the bank by cutting the wall from the empty plot next to it. According to the police, about four people entered the bank by cutting the wall. The criminals went inside the bank and broke the lockers and took away the stuff kept in them. 42 out of 90 lockers were found broken. Information is being gathered about how much gold and silver was stolen. However, the cash of Rs 12 lakh kept in the bank is safe.

The bank’s alarm system was out of order

Regarding the incident, the police officer said that the bank’s alarm system was faulty, which was not working at the time of the incident. Apart from this, there was no security guard posted in the bank, due to which the criminals got an easy opportunity to carry out their crime. Questions are being raised on this flaw in the security arrangements of the bank and the officials have started an investigation regarding this.

After getting information about the incident, senior police officials and forensic team reached the spot. Apart from this, dog squad was also sent to the spot for investigation. Police has started searching for the criminals in the area around the bank and efforts are being made to gather many clues. Police has deployed 6 teams and a crime team on the spot for disclosure.

 

Revealed the couple who stole jewellery from the bank locker

In another news, Ghaziabad police recently arrested a woman and solved a case of theft of gold and silver jewellery from a bank locker, while her husband is absconding. The incident took place on October 19 at the Modinagar branch of Bank of Baroda. The woman, Priya Garg (30) and her husband, Nitin Garg, went to the bank, where they noticed that another locker (B-42) next to theirs was not closed. According to the woman, when she opened the locker, gold and silver jewellery were kept in it. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the couple stole these jewellery.

According to the police, Priya and Nitin had planned to sell the stolen jewellery, but they did not get a chance. After a 51-day long investigation, the police arrested Priya Garg and recovered 360 grams of gold and one kilogram of silver jewellery from her. Police said that an FIR was registered against unknown persons under Section 305 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in this theft case.
