India is on the verge of a green transport revolution, EV market could be worth Rs 20 lakh crore by 2030

Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta on Friday said that India stands at the threshold of a green transport revolution. He said that the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market has the potential to reach Rs 20 lakh crore by the year 2030. Union Minister of State Tamta was addressing the gathering on the occasion of launching Khalsa EV’s new series of battery-powered three-wheelers at the 21st EV Expo at Bharat Mandapam. He said, “India stands at the threshold of a green transport revolution. The Indian electric vehicle market has the potential to reach Rs 20 lakh crore by 2030, which will create five crore jobs in the entire EV ecosystem.”

EVs are not just a means of transport

Tamta said, “Electric vehicles are not just a mode of transport, they reflect our commitment to a sustainable and self-reliant future.” Commenting on the latest range of products, Shivam Narang, Managing Director, Khalsa E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd said, “Our focus is aligned with the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP), which aims to achieve national fuel security by promoting hybrid and electric vehicles in the country.” Khalsa EV unveiled its latest three-wheeler model L5, nicknamed ‘Luca’. It is powered by a high-speed lithium-ion battery with a range of 200 km, a first in its category in India. The model will be available in both passenger and freight versions.

EV Expo is going on in Pragati Maidan

The 21st EV Expo is currently being organized at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. This event is being held in Hall No. 1 and 2. This expo was inaugurated by Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Corporate Affairs. Companies like Khalsa EV, CityUp, Terro Motors and Maxim E Vehicles have set up their exhibits in this expo.
