Kuwait City: PM Modi has reached Kuwait on a 2-day visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met 101-year-old former IFS officer Mangal Sain Handa in Kuwait City. PM Modi is on a 2-day visit to Kuwait City at the invitation of Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. This is the second visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in the last 43 years. Before him, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had visited Kuwait. During this visit of PM Modi, a new historical chapter is expected to be written in the relations between India and Kuwait.
Let us tell you that before leaving for a two-day visit to Kuwait, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that India and the Gulf country have a common interest in the peace, security and stability of the West Asian region. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi is visiting Kuwait at a time when President Bashar al-Assad’s regime collapsed in Syria two weeks ago and Israeli attacks in Gaza are continuing. In a statement given before leaving, PM Modi said that his talks with the top leadership of Kuwait will provide an opportunity to prepare a blueprint for future partnership between India and Kuwait. He said, “We attach great importance to the historical relations with Kuwait, which have lasted for generations.
India-Kuwait partnership will be stronger
We are not only strong partners in the areas of trade and energy but also have a shared interest in peace, security and stability in West Asia.” Modi said he was looking forward to his meetings with the Emir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Kuwait. “This will be an opportunity to chart a future partnership for the benefit of our people and the region,” he said. “I also look forward to meeting the Indian diaspora in Kuwait who have contributed significantly in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries,” he said
