The case of suicide of AI engineer Atul Subhash is now taking a new turn. AI engineer Atul Subhash’s mother Anju Devi has approached the Supreme Court demanding custody of Atul’s four and a half year old son. The Supreme Court bench of Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice N. Kotiswar Singh has heard the case and issued notice to all three states seeking their response. The petition said that there is no information about where the child is. The child’s mother is not revealing his address.

habeas corpus petition filed

Petitioner Atul’s mother Anju Devi has filed a habeas corpus petition seeking custody of her grandson, Atul’s four and a half year old son. Hearing this, the Supreme Court has issued notice to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka on this habeas corpus petition and sought their reply.

Mother is not telling

It has been said in the petition that no one knows where the child is because Atul’s wife Nikita, who is in custody, is not revealing the whereabouts of the child. Wife’s brother Anurag Singhania and mother Nisha Singhania are also in custody at present. Therefore, after interrogating them, the custody of the innocent child should be handed over to them, i.e. the grandparents.

However, Nikita told the police that her son is studying in a boarding school in Faridabad. His custody is with Nikita’s uncle Sushil Singhania, whereas Nikita’s uncle Sushil has completely denied the police about having the custody of the child or any information about him.

Hearing will be held on 7 January

It has been said in this petition that this case is related to the three states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka, therefore the Supreme Court should intervene in this and the child should be recovered and brought before the court. The next hearing on this case in the Supreme Court will be on 7 January.
