A person who had come to Lucknow from Gorakhpur to join the Congress party’s protest died. Gorakhpur resident Prabhat Pandey was found unconscious in the Congress office, after which he was brought to the civil hospital, but by then he had died. On hearing the news of Prabhat Pandey’s death, State Congress President Ajay Rai and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak reached the hospital. Brajesh Pathak said during this that the real reason behind Prabhat’s death will be known after the postmortem. Meanwhile, Congress Party’s State President Ajay Rai gave a statement and demanded that the government investigate the entire matter.

Ajay Rai further said that the police had put up barricades with sharp nails in the way of the Congressmen and he himself fell unconscious in the jostling of the police. On the other hand, the police say that no injury marks have been found on Prabhat’s body and the whole matter is being investigated. Superintendent of Police Raveena Tyagi said on this matter that at 5 pm on 18 December 2024, Prabhat Pandey was admitted to the Civil Hospital in an unconscious state from the Congress office, where the doctors declared him dead. There are no marks of injury on the body of the deceased. The postmortem of the deceased will be done through videography and further investigation will be done.
