Kisan Credit Card or KCC is one of the most popular schemes among farmers. KCC scheme was introduced in the year 1998 with the aim of simplifying the loan process for farmers. In this, farmers are given loans for agricultural work. In this scheme, loans are made available to farmers at a very affordable interest rate of 4%. The minimum age for the applicant in this scheme is 18 years and there is no maximum age limit. A maximum loan of up to Rs 3 lakh can be taken under this scheme. The maximum loan period is 5 years. The validity of Kisan Credit Card is also 5 years.
Earlier, a guarantee was required for a loan of more than Rs 1.60 lakh in KCC loan. Now recently RBI has increased the limit of guarantee free loan to Rs 2 lakh. That means you will get a loan up to Rs 2 lakh without any guarantee.
