FIRs will also be registered against people giving alms in Indore city from January 1. Indore District Magistrate Ashish Singh said, “Our awareness campaign against begging will continue in the city till the end of this month (December). From January 1, if any person is found giving alms, an FIR will be registered against him.”
Do not become a partner in sin by giving alms – District Magistrate
Indore’s District Magistrate Ashish Singh has said that the administration has already issued an order banning begging in the city. He said – “I appeal to all the people of Indore that they should not become partners in sin by giving alms to people.” District Magistrate Ashish Singh has also informed that the city administration has exposed different gangs that make people beg in the last several months.
Pilot project of Central Government
Indore District Magistrate has said that the administration has rehabilitated many people involved in begging. Let us tell you that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government has started a pilot project. Under this, it has been decided to make 10 cities across the country beggar-free. Indore is also included in these.
