Abhishek Banerjee’s big statement on CM Mamata, gave a sharp reaction on ‘One Nation, One Election’ and EVM

Abhishek Banerjee And Mamata Ban

Amid the discussions on handing over the command of the ‘India’ alliance to West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee, a statement by the party’s national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee has come to the fore. He said that the India alliance will discuss this issue. Mamata Banerjee is the seniormost leader, this is her third term as Chief Minister and she has also been a Union Minister earlier. Therefore, there should be a detailed discussion on this. No party should be considered small. TMC is the only party in the India alliance that has defeated BJP as well as Congress. This shows their strength.

Commenting on the atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh, Abhishek Banerjee said, “Our government strongly condemns this atrocity and the central government should take a tough stand on this. There should be clarity on what the Foreign Secretary said during his visit. He should answer this in Parliament. The Foreign Minister should make a statement on this issue.”

Sharp reaction to ‘One Nation, One Election’

Abhishek Banerjee reacted sharply on ‘One Nation, One Election’. He said, “Elections were held in West Bengal in seven phases in 2024 and assembly elections were held in eight phases in 2021. If you are conducting elections in 7-8 phases, then how can elections be held simultaneously for 140 crore people across the country? This is a matter of snatching the rights of the people. This right has been given to 140 crore Indian citizens by the Constitution, not by BJP, Congress or TMC. If I vote three-four times in five years, the accountability of the government remains. This bill is an attempt to snatch the rights of the people and as long as there is opposition, we will not let it pass.”

He also spoke on Omar Abdullah’s statement on EVM

At the same time, Abhishek Banerjee said about the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on EVM, “Those who question EVM, if they have anything then they should show a demo to the Election Commission. If EVM randomization is done properly and the people working at the booth do proper checking during mock poll and counting, then I don’t think there is any substance in this allegation. If still someone thinks that EVM can be hacked, then they should meet the Election Commission and tell how EVM can be hacked. Nothing can be achieved by just giving absurd statements.” Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah had said about EVM that Congress should stop blaming EVM for its weaknesses.
