Indian Return From Syria: After the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in Syria and his fleeing the country, the situation there remains horrific. Some Indians were also trapped in this horrific situation, who have been evacuated from there. Ravi Bhushan, a resident of Ghaziabad, is the first among the 75 Indians to return to India from Syria. On returning to India, Ravi mentioned the horrific situation in Damascus and thanked the Indian government for the help.

Efforts made by the Indian Government

Ravi Bhushan told ANI what kind of efforts India made to help its citizens come back home. Ravi said that India has started the rescue operation and we are the first team to be rescued from Syria and brought back to the country. He said that the best thing is that they (Indian Embassy) have contacted every single person, encouraged them and also asked if they are okay.

everything was arranged

Bhushan told ANI that he was informed every hour through messages about what he was going to do and when in connection with the rescue operation. He said, ‘If anyone had any problem related to food or anything else, they would arrange it. He said that we are very grateful to the Government of India as well as the Indian embassies located in both Lebanon and Syria.

Bhushan told what he saw

Bhushan said that seeing the suffering of people of other countries made him realise how good the efforts made by the Indian government were. He said, ‘We saw how people of other countries were suffering. We saw small children and women sitting outside for more than 10-12 hours in 4-5 degree temperature. It was really terrible, but because of the Indian government we did not have to face any such problem.’

The situation in Syria is dire

Ravi Bhushan called the current situation in Syria ‘worse’. He said that people are openly firing on the streets, bombing, looting banks. The airport has been completely damaged. They are damaging hotels and vehicles. I would say that the situation there is going to get worse in the coming days. He told that he had gone to Syria for business reasons.
