Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the works of the Geology and Mining Department and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that revenue of Rs 2407.20 crore has been received in the financial year 2024-25. Further increase is expected in this. Departmental and district level officers should make rapid efforts for its improvement. The accountability of the District Magistrate and District Mining Officer should be fixed for revenue collection. The Chief Minister said that there are immense possibilities of revenue increase in view of mining in Sonbhadra, Banda, Kaushambi and Mahoba. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing the districts receiving less revenue, directed to ensure measures to increase revenue in these as well. He said that action should be increased by taking quick decisions on the pending applications at the government, department and district level. He said that other measures to increase revenue should also be considered.
CM Yogi gave instructions to the officials
CM Yogi directed that any kind of illegal mining activity will not be tolerated in the catchment area of the river. It should be strictly stopped using technology. Also, Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) should be installed on the vehicles mining inside the approved mining area, so that it can be ensured whether mining is happening in the approved area or not. This will also be convenient for the transporter. Apart from this, API integrations have been done from Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to check the legality of vehicles transporting sub-minerals from other states to the state. CM Yogi said that the task force in the districts should keep conducting raids from time to time to stop illegal mining. The presence of departmental officers, administrative and police officers should be ensured during the raid. Its videography should also be done regularly.
Action can be taken on overloaded vehicles parked on the roadside
While instructing the officers, CM Yogi said that the accountability of the officers should be fixed at various levels of the department. Pending cases should be resolved on time at the departmental level. An action plan for the whole year should be prepared between June and August. By preparing the action plan on time, the work will be completed easily. CM Yogi instructed the officers of the Transport Department present in the meeting to make rapid efforts to prevent road accidents. Overloaded vehicles should not be parked on the roadside at all. Apart from this, 55 check gates have been established in the districts to prevent evasion and overloading. Weigh in motion plants should be installed on them soon. Overloading should be stopped at zero point in any case.
