There was a huge uproar in the Rajya Sabha on Monday between the members of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Congress. The NDA accused the Congress of destabilizing the country’s government and economy through foreign organizations. The BJP alleged that former Congress President Sonia Gandhi is associated with an organization funded by American businessman George Soros Foundation, which has supported the idea of separating Kashmir from India. Demanding a discussion on this issue, BJP leaders raised strong slogans, due to which the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 3:00 pm after two adjournments.
The case related to Rajiv Gandhi Trust
Amid the uproar, BJP leader JP Nadda alleged that Congress leaders were colluding with foreign organizations and industrialists like George Soros to endanger the country’s security and stability. He also claimed that organizations like the ‘Forum of Democratic Leaders in the Asia Pacific’ see Jammu and Kashmir as a separate entity and its financial support is linked to the Rajiv Gandhi Trust.
Kharge rejected the allegations.
After this, opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge retaliated by calling JP Nadda’s allegations completely false and saying that the people of the ruling party themselves were committing ‘treason’. He alleged that this ruckus of the BJP is being done to hide the policies of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to divert attention from the issues.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar repeatedly tried to pacify both sides, but the uproar continued. Meanwhile, leaders of the Congress and other opposition parties alleged that the ruling party members were deliberately disrupting the proceedings of the House to avoid discussion on controversial issues like Adani and George Soros.
