Famous film director Subhash Ghai’s health deteriorated, admitted to Lilavati Hospital

Renowned filmmaker and director Subhash Ghai has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. The 79-year-old was taken to the ICU on Wednesday after he complained of respiratory problems, weakness, and frequent dizziness. According to hospital sources, Ghai is currently under the close observation of a team of specialist doctors including neurologist Dr Vijay Chaudhary, cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhal,e and pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parker. A hospital source told Screen that Subhash Ghai’s condition is showing signs of improvement. The source added that Ghai is likely to be shifted from the ICU to a general ward within a day.

Who is Subhash Ghai?

Subhash Ghai, who has made films like Ram Lakhan (1989), Khalnayak (1993), Hero (1983), and, Karz (1980), is a veteran director. Subhash Ghai is also known as the Showman. Subhash has been directing films since 1976. Subhash started with the film Kalicharan (1976) in 1976, a film he made without any prior directing experience. The film was rejected seven times before it came to NN Sippy, who gave Ghai a chance. He then followed up with Vishwanath (1978) two years later, but achieved great success with his third film and first under his Mukta Arts banner, Karz (1980). Along with the hit pair of Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim, Karz brought Subhash and Laxmikant-Pyarelal together. Subhash Ghai has directed many films in Bollywood so far. Many of these have been superhits at the box office.
